About My Service
Counselling / Talking Therapy /
Are you finding things difficult? Perhaps you're struggling to cope with difficult life events. Do you get overwhelmed with emotion? Or do you feel numb and an absence of emotion?
If you're having problems with relationships or having trouble letting go from something from your past, counselling is a good way to start a change. If you find it hard to trust people or change behaviours that seem to keep re-occuring, we can work together to make things better.
If life feels like it is getting on-top of you and you're at the point where you need some help, I'm waiting for you to get in touch.
Counselling changes lives. It allows you to work through your problems with someone you trust and in a way that might be very difficult to do either on your own or with someone close to you like family or friends.
My name is Adam and I offer 1-to-1 in person counselling to people like you.
Together we will work to understand your particular struggles and problems. I will listen to you and help you make sense of things and find a way forward. I won't judge and you're in control. This is your time to discuss the things that you are finding difficult.
Why not call me for a no obligation, informal chat, to see how I can help you?

By coming direct to a private counsellor, you're cutting out all the long queues and time waiting for referrals via the NHS. You can find a counsellor that suits you, who can provide a therapy that suits your needs, and you are in control of when, where, for how long and how often you see them. You also get a more relaxed and less clinical environment.
If you’ve tried talking therapy before via the NHS (e.g. CBT) and it didn’t help, a different approach might be for you.
I offer an approach called Person Centred Counselling. It offers a free space for you to be in control of what YOU need to talk about. There’s no homework or filling in lots of forms or ticking boxes, just time for you to talk.
Research shows that it is just as effective as CBT. In fact, the research shows that it is the relationship between the client and the counsellor that matters the most, rather than the type of counselling. With this in mind, it is really important that you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. That is why I provide a free 20 min initial consultation over the phone, so that we can get a feel for what it would be like working with each other.
